Matthew Parry added to his growing trophy collection when he picked up the champion's silverware at the annual Trent Valley Kart Club awards night.

The 16-year old, having already been crowned as Super 1 Junior Max champion, was leading the TVKC standings in the same class when the final round of the season, scheduled for 5 December, was cancelled due to the heavy snow that brought Britain to a halt before Christmas.

With no threat to his 36-point advantage, Parry was able to celebrate without even venturing to PF International, but had to wait until the New Year to collect his reward.

The biggest night of Parry's season is yet to come, however, with the annual Super 1 awards not due to take place until the weekend of the Autosport International exhibition in mid-January.
