Matt Parry kicked off his 2015 season with a fitness and nutrition workshop at the world-famous Loughborough University, along with other members of the MSA's Team UK squad.

The elite British talents were put through their paces in a series of physical tests over three days as the governing body helped ramp up their preparations for the coming campaign. Parry hit the weights as part of his power base strength and conditioning programme, with athletic and cycling activities measuring his cardiovascular development. In addition, the drivers had access to Loughborough's world-leading gymnastic facilities, where they had the chance to mingle with members of the Team GB Olympic squad.

The training programme was complemented by a nutrition workshop, where the drivers were given valuable advice on diet and the role it plays in their preparation.

"It is great to have been confirmed as a member of Team UK for the coming year, and sessions like these are a major benefit of being on the programme," Parry admitted, "I try to prepare myself and train as hard as possible between seasons, but there is always something that I can learn.

"The success of the session is coming away with something to work on and, while I was happy to hear that my strength and endurance were very good - and that the hours I put in during the season and over the winter had paid off - I can definitely work on my flexibility, so that will be another focus as the year goes on. The activities we were given were fun, and the facilities at Loughborough are second to none - meeting the Team GB gymnasts was an added bonus!"

Parry has yet to announce where he will be racing in 2015, with negotiations continuining on various fronts.
